About Beaver Golf™
Our mission at Beaver Golf is to offer you products that are high-quality, reasonably priced, and help you enjoy golf more. For this reason, among others, you will not find every brand under the golf umbrella. What you will find are products and brands that are innovative and exciting, challenging you to do whatever it takes to play better. As time goes by, we will continue introducing additional products designed with your enjoyment of the game in mind.
The Beaver Golf™ concept began its evolution over Labor Day weekend of 2000 on a "buddy" trip to play the new Bandon Dunes course in Bandon, OR. If you don't already know, Beavers are kind of a big deal in Oregon, and we spied a handful of Oregon State University golfers honing their skills on the course. The Bandon Dunes course and resort were so incredible, my buddies and I were inspired to formalize our group of golfing friends…Beaver Golf!
It would be an exaggeration to suggest that the idea "exploded", but every February, I created that season's schedule, sent it to all my Beaver Golfers and asked them to save the dates that looked best to them. During these weekend rounds, conversation flowed, and ideas were shared, causing me to consider ways of expanding the idea into something bigger.
During 2009, a confluence of life-changing events sparked my effort to move my focus to Beaver Golf™, and further evolve the concept into one of "Social Shopping", or in other words, into a comfortable online golf community complete with all the trappings of your favorite 19th hole, including:
- • Conversations with an array of other golfers who, like you, live to play golf, and play golf to live!
- • Information about new and innovative products, courses, and techniques to help you play better and enjoy the game even more!
- • An online golf store featuring those products and services, many of which would be difficult to find in your local golf retailer or pro shop!
- • Contests and activities to keep the good time rolling!
In April of 2010, these ideas become reality as BeaverGolf.com opens for business! Beaver Golf™ will feature some of the well-known golf brands, but is eager to seek out and feature those products that are truly new and innovative, ranging from performance enhancing, eco-friendly apparel to the newest concepts in equipment design.
The Beaver is a fascinating animal known for their tireless activity of building dams and the lodges that they call home. Their diligence and skill is legendary, and their work results in the creation of open meadows where stands of forest once stood. When a beaver sets their mind on something, rest assured, it will get done.
A Beaver Golfer is, much like The Beaver, tireless in his or her pursuit of the game, playing a round of golf at least weekly, and often more. Beaver Golfers are known to skip out of otherwise important meetings and occasions to fit in a round of golf, or even just hit a bucket at their local range. Finally, Beaver Golfers are willing to part with some of the more "traditional" customs of golf equipment and apparel, embracing many innovative new designs, colors, and fashions that are just now beginning to make their way to the course.
As a Beaver Golf member, you will have the opportunity to enjoy some perks that will stay with you as long as you choose to stay with us. Sometimes you will know a reward is coming, and sometimes you won't, but we are confident that you will not be disappointed.
