While not yet a household name among the vast hoards of public golfers, among several professional tours around the world, Fourteen Golf has a long legacy of making winning wedges. The MT-28 V5 builds upon the foundation laid by its predecessor, the MT-28 V4, by featuring trapezoidal shaped grooves that conform the newest USGA rules regarding groove depth and shape. Through the effective use of their "reverse taper design", Fourteen has created in the MT-28 V5 a higher center of gravity (CG), allowing the player to get the ball airborne more effectively, providing the ultimate in control, spin, distance, and optimal trajectory on every shot.
By adding a groove on the back of the wedge between the sole and blade, Fourteen was able to enhance their "reverse taper design" with a higher, more stable CG. This enhancement increases the ability of the player to execute their shots more precisely and consistently.
Players can now fully utilize the bounce on the MT-28 V5 wedges due to their flatter sole shape with a trailing edge and slight heel relief. No rough is too tough for these wedges! Additionally, the MT-28 V5 features a rounded leading edge that inspires confidence at setup, and gives the club a professional look. Due to their advanced engineering, these wedges are incredibly easy to control the opening and closing of the clubface to play various types of chip, pitch, and flop shots. Play these wedges and you will quickly realize why they were named to the Golf Digest 2011 Hot List in the wedge category.
